Using the data of 218 cities at prefecture level and above in China from 2003 to 2012, the author analyzes the impact of railway traffic development on the agglomeration of urban producer services. The results show that the high-speed railway operation strengthens the economic connection among cities. If the economic connection degree between a city and the outside world is higher than 1% of the average economic level, the agglomeration level of producer services in the city will be higher than the average agglomeration level by 3% 6%. The higher the opening hours of high-speed railways, the greater the contribution to the agglomeration of productive service industries along the cities. The high-speed railway operation has significantly promoted the agglomeration of productive service industries in these cities by enhancing the economic links among cities along the cities. Cities along the cities can take advantage of the high-speed railway to speed up the development of productive services, while non-cities along the borders need to be more cautious in assessing opportunities for developing productive services.
