Atom: Its Greek meaning is inseparable. Early atomism believed that atoms were inseparable, but now it is found that there is no space in the atom and it is divisible. Electronics: In 1897, the British physicist Thomson studied the cathode rays and found that electrons were part of the atom and overturned the conclusion that atoms could not be separated. The Greek word for electrons was amber because the amber and fur were the first to generate electricity. Proton: In 1911, British scientist Rutherford bombarded gold foil with alpha particles and discovered that there are particles with the smallest unit of positive charge in the atomic nucleus. They are called “protons.” In Latin, “mass” is the meaning of “basic, first.” .
