生态文学批评是一门研究文学和自然环境两者之间关系的学问,其目的就是以自然被再现的方式重现研读文学作品,在重新欣赏的过程中加重对文本的重新解读,继而产生深层次的领悟,并对作品内涵进行透彻的分析和阐释,旨在唤醒人们的生态保护意识。对经典名著的生态解读也是生态文学批评理论自我发展和自我构建的途径之一。海明威的《老人与海》蕴含着丰富的生态思想,对其文本的生态解读有助于提高我们的生态认识,认清当前生态危机的根源。
