With the introduction of the K6 processor by AMD, IBM announced the decision to use the top-level processor on its personal PC just before AMD released its quarterly revenue report. At present, IBM is actively promoting the use of K6 on its personal PC. Obviously, most of this move is driven by the high price of Intel processors.
