According to information from the “Beverage Industry”, Euromonitor’s analysis of the international soft drinks market shows that the soft drink market in North America significantly exceeds other international markets in per capita consumption and total volume. Last year, North America had more than 200 liters of per capita carbonated beverage consumption. After North America, Latin America and Australia increased from about 190.7 liters per person in 1995 (83 liters in Latin America and 81.9 liters in Oceania) to 230.5 litres in 1999. It is significantly higher than the underdeveloped Eastern Europe (up 24.1 liters per capita) and the Asia-Pacific region (6.4 litres per capita). The latter is even more disparate with North America.
