At the beginning of the founding of Canada, the contradictions between the two founding ethnic groups of British and French origin remained sharp and the state lacks cohesion. Under the leadership of Charles Roberts, father of Canadian literature in the 1880s, a group of British-American poets, based on the spirit of “Canada’s First” Movement, expressed their patriotism through poetry and speeches Love has played a role in fueling the predominance of neo-nationalism advocated by English-speaking nations. During this period, most federal poets promoted Canadian neo-nationalism through natural lyric poetry while Roberts used the political poem “Canada” to demonstrate the nationalist complex and further enhance the influence of the federal poets.
