诺曼·罗克威尔(1894—1978)是现代美国人民最熟悉、最喜爱的画家之一。他的作品广泛而生动地反映了美国下层人民普通生活的各个侧面:孩子们的成长、学习;青年人的婚姻、家庭:老年人的生活境况等等。《离家》描绘的是一个普通美国工人家庭的父亲送儿子上学的情景。父亲是一位多年劳碌的工人,儿子是一个尚未踏入社会、不甚了解生活艰辛的青年。儿子对未来充满了信心,似乎对一切都想跃跃欲试。
Norman Rockwell (1894-1978) is one of the most familiar and favorite painters of modern American people. His works reflect the broad and vivid aspects of ordinary life in the lower classes of the United States: growth and learning of children, marriage of young people, families: the living conditions of the elderly and so on. “Leaving home” depicts the scene where a father of an ordinary American worker’s family sent his son to school. My father is a labor worker who has worked hard for many years and his son is a young man who has not yet stepped into the society and does not really understand the hardships of life. Son full of confidence in the future, seems to want to try everything.
