海洋藻类在地球生命进化史上占有重要地位,几亿年前,由藻类演化出的植物“登陆”大地,繁衍出各种陆生植物,同时也为动物的滋生和“登陆”提供了条件。藻类植物包括最古老的蓝藻类,是吸收二氧化碳而排出氧气的生物,是地球上吸氧生命的创造者。藻类不断地、及时地补充着地球上氧的消耗,供给臭氧层屏蔽太阳紫外线,使吸氧生物有足够的氧吸;作为初级存在物的海藻,处于食物链的最下端,由于它的出现,才使其它生命有食物可吃。所以,海藻是地球上真正的“万物之母”。 曾呈奎,就是研究海藻这个“万物之母”的著名科学家。
Marine algae play an important role in the evolution of the earth’s life. Hundreds of millions of years ago, the plants evolved from algae “landed” on the earth and multiplied various terrestrial plants, which provided conditions for the breeding and “landing” of animals. As the primary present of seaweed, at the very bottom of the food chain, due to its appearance, Other lives have food to eat. Therefore, seaweed is the real “Mother Earth”.
