Detection of E. histolytica from the stool using conventional methods remains a challenge. In this paper, McAbs that specifically recognize E.h. cysts were prepared. Amoeba strains isolated from stool specimens of 22 patients were assayed by rRNA-PCR and hexokinase isoenzyme, 5 were Eh-infected, 16 were Ed-infected with dispar, 1 was Eh and Ed Mixed infection.
