近年来由于能源短缺,柴油机出现直喷化倾向,玉林柴油机厂为了节约能源,适应多变的市场需求,从1983年开始着手进行6105Q型柴油机直喷化变型工作。通过调查和分析研究,在选取上海内燃机研究所研制的一种新型花瓣形燃烧系统的基础上,结合原6105Q型柴油机,研制出6105QA型柴油机,并于1987年元月通过了省级鉴定。在采用花瓣型燃烧室的同时,也考虑了原6105Q型已有的生产能力,增强新机的工艺继承性,所以主要尺寸力求不变,使新机与原机之间达到高度通用化。
