本文是P.E.Jones先生于1988年10月应邀来华讲学的内容。Jones先生曾任美国Cummins公司副总裁,负责新机设计和研制,主持了K.N.L10和B系列的研制(这些系列已经或正在被我国引进)。讲学内容总结了Jones先生成功的经验,描述了一台新的发动机从确定其必要性到成功地投入生产的全过程。指出一台新机的研制过程可分为7个步骤,即计划、概念性设计、执行计划及组织、设计、分析、研制及试生产。必须认真地对待每个环节才能取得成功。这是Jones先生自身的经验,并非是唯一的成功途径。本文由华觉源同志根据讲学报告进行书面整理。
This article is the content of P.E. Jones’ invitation to come to China in October 1988. Mr. Jones was the vice president of Cummins Inc., USA, where he was responsible for the design and development of new aircraft. He led the development of K.N.L10 and B series (these series have been or are being introduced into China). The lecture summed up the successful experience of Mr. Jones and described the whole process of determining the necessity of a new engine and successfully putting it into production. Pointed out that the development process of a new aircraft can be divided into seven steps, namely planning, conceptual design, implementation plan and organization, design, analysis, development and trial production. Every link must be taken seriously to succeed. This is Mr. Jones’s own experience and not the only way to succeed. This article by Hua Yuanyuan based on lecture report written order.
