应用氯气保护、半固态搅拌铸造法制备了Al/SiC颗粒增强的复合材料。其制备过程是将温度控制在困-液相温度范围内,通过搅拌器高速旋转使金属产生旋涡,然后向旋涡中逐渐投入颗粒,使之分布均匀。尔后迅速升温至可浇铸温度(720°C左右),在100MPa压力下成形。得到的复合材料中Sic颗粒的分布比较均匀,没有发现结团和宏观气孔。由于Sic颗粒的加入,材料的弹性模量、屈服强度较基体材料有很大提高。而且,由于SiCp颗粒对基体材料滑移的阻碍而使复合材料的应变硬化率提高。
