必须上好体育课、劳动课、音乐课和艺术课的这种学科结构的设想越清晰,教学时间的问题、减轻学生学习负担的问题就越显得突出。可以预见有两条解决的途径:第一,通过协调各科教材,使各科任课教师的努力联合起来,建立学科间联系,来压缩用于完成教学大纲的时间;第二,通过合理使用每一节课的时间,大大减少家庭作业,以便把下半天空余出来,让学生从事各种兴趣活动。这一设想在教师中引起了不同的反响。他们说:“早就应当这样工作了!”“必须克服学生负担过重的现象!”……等等。但是,
