“汉语手指字母方案(草案)”自一九五九年二月发布试行以来,各地广泛进行了学习,在聋哑学校、聋哑人业余文化学校和扫盲班(组)中,利用了手指字母作为发音教学的辅助手段和识字拐棍。几年来的实践证明,这套特殊语文工具的设计基本上是成功的。它帮助了聋哑学生识记、辨认语音,提高了看话能力,加快了识字进度,更好地掌握了新词;改善了手势语的表达方法,使手势语比较精确和丰富,在成年聋哑人扫盲
