International data firm IDC researchers say there will be more competition in the cloud, mobile applications and big data in 2012. Frank Gens, Senior Vice President and Chief Analyst, IDC, said: “Companies such as Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard and Apple are all experiencing a ’crisis at the crossroads’ in 2012. By the end of 2012 we will be well aware of which vendors are in Industry leader ”.
