A computer-centric integrated ground logging system is a new type of logging tool that combines digitally logged logging data on the spot, computes and records them on film. The CYBERLOOK program at Schlumberger on-site computer processing uses a newly quoted “dual water” interpretation model that parses the reservoir. This model considers an aqueous muddy formation to contain two types of pore water: “clay water” attached to the surface of clay particles and “far water” at a distance from the clay surface. All input parameters to this computer handler can be precisely selected from the first combined log. All calculated values (corrected for shaliness and light hydrocarbon) can be recorded on film and the format of the record is easy to interpret for easy site judgment. Field experience shows that this procedure is very flexible and can provide good results in both sandstone and carbonate reservoirs in North America.
