Kurt Vonnegut’s “Slaughterhouse # 5” is a classic postmodern anti-war novels, two narrative levels in the novel to show readers the trauma caused by the war and the difficult road to healing, especially Pilgrim’s plot of time and space travel is not a story of science fiction, but a flashback to the memory of the war, an exhibition of the trauma of war, and a necessary stage for the process of healing itself. Through these traumas and healings, the novel finally reveals the cruelty of the war and the heavy suffering it brings to people, and at the same time, it achieves the purpose of getting out of the traumatic collective in the process of reconstructing the collective memory.
