In 1975, for the purpose of exploring a new way of water conservancy in mountainous areas, we conducted a trial of mobile drip irrigation for grain fields at the Xiangning Brigade in Beijing’s suburb for the major shortcomings of heavy investments in drip irrigation and more materials used. After three years of practice, it is proved that mobile drip irrigation has greater advantages for drought and water shortage in mountainous areas. First, with less investment, the average investment of 154 mu of dripping irrigation area for the Xiangyang Brigade was only 28.8 yuan.
