青岛地处山东半岛南部,濒临黄海,雨量充沛,空气湿润,温度适中,具有海洋性气候特点,非常适宜蔬菜作物的生长发育,多年来培育出许多优良的地方蔬菜品种,如青岛叶儿三黄瓜、城阳青大白菜、翘头青萝卜、青岛架菜豆、72—69番茄、青岛实梗芹菜等,为当地蔬菜生产的发展和蔬菜育种提供了良好的基础条件。青岛地区生产的蔬菜主要以供应青岛当地为主,因此受青岛地区消费习惯的影响,在蔬菜品种的选择上有许多独特之处,不仅与全国其它地区不同,而且与山东省内的几个邻近地区,如济南、潍坊、烟台等也有明显的不同之处,现将近几年青岛地区推广的几种主要蔬菜品种概述如下。
