5月1日,新华杜向国内外播发了国家主席江泽民宣布第43届世乓赛开幕的消息。举办这一全球赛事的天津体育馆大厅就是由私营莱州市刚磊石材有限公司承建的天津市优质工程。5月8日,笔者驱车来到莱州市夏邱镇采访了刚磊公司。国内基建压缩、市场疲软,许多石材企业处境艰难,而这里却是另一番景象。公司销售部里,国内外的订单压了厚厚一摞,上门坐阵催货的客户排起了长队。尽管月产达到5000平方米,仍是僧多粥少。这家只有80名职工的石材专业公司,投产仅6个月,没有一名销售员,却向国内30多座大中城市和日本、韩国等国家销售板材3万平方米,成为莱州屈指

Many stone companies are in a difficult situation. But here is another sight. In the company’s sales department, orders from domestic and foreign companies have been pressed by a thick line. Although the monthly production reaches 5,000 square meters, it is still relatively low. This stone-professional company with only 80 employees was put into operation for only 6 months. Without a salesperson, it sold 30,000 square meters of plates to more than 30 large and medium-sized cities in the country and Japan, South Korea and other countries, becoming a symbol of Laizhou.
