为贯彻《中共中央国务院关于加强科学技术普及工作若干意见》和《中共中央国务院关于深化教育改革全面推进素质教育的决定》精神,落实《关于进一步加强中小学科技教育工作的通知》的有关要求,实施科教兴国战略,培养青少年的创新精神和实践能力,充分开发和利用社会科普资源,广泛地向青少年传播和普及科学知识、科学方法和科学精神,推动青少年科技教育工作的深入发展,全面推进素质教育,科技部、中宜部、教育部和中国科协决定于1999年第四季度命名首批100个“全国青少年科技教育基地”。现将有关事项通知如下:
