Kun-Ming Basin, the greatest among all the intermont basins on the Yunnan Plateau, is essentially a basin of lake deposits and river alluviums,brought down by the Pan-Lung river and its tributaries. This paper deals mainly with the Laeustrine plain, an individual subregion of the basin, in the south suburb of the city.
