建国三十五年来,邮电物资工作从无到有,物资队伍逐步发展壮大,各级邮电物资部门在保证邮电通信建设的物资需要方面做了大量的工作,付出了辛勤的劳动,取得了显著的成绩。从全国邮电部门主要物资的消费使用情况来看,一九八三年同一九五三年对比,钢材增长了22倍,平均每年增长11%,水泥增长了28倍,平均每年增长11.9%,通信电缆增长了32倍,平均每年增长12.3%。从价值量指标来看,据部属物资系统统计一九八三年比一九五三年增长11.4倍,平均每年增长8.4%。增长速度是相当快的。同时,供应的通信设备也逐步从简单到复杂,从低级到高级,向高、精、尖、现代化发展。由于广大邮电物资战线同志们的努力,物资工作对通信建设的发展起到有力的保证和促进作用。
