周一在香港国际电影节的一场人头济济的新闻发布会上,功夫明星甄子丹(Donnie Yen)和导演叶伟信(Wilson Yip)介绍了他们的新片《叶问2》。
《叶问2》是2008年的影片《叶问》的续集,讲述的依然是这位20世纪中国武术大师的生活。叶问的弟子之一就是年轻时代的李小龙(Bruce Lee)。
叶问1893年出生于广东,1972年在香港逝世。在影片中,他被描绘为一个勇敢正直之士,对妻儿爱护之至。
甄子丹接受《华尔街日报》采访时说,我们是根据真人原型创造出了特定的形象。
他说,叶问是如今的英雄人物,因为他能打,但同时他也是个善良、负责任的居家男人,这一点对所有的观众群体都有吸引力。
虽然《叶问》第一部大获成功,即将在下个月上映的这部续集也广受期待,但甄子丹说,他估计不会有第三部了。他说,我觉得两部对于身为演员的我和身为导演的叶伟信来说都足够了。
他还表示,我们可以轻轻松松地再拍出五部,不过那样就毫无艺术价值可言了。我希望人们记住我们为电影行业所做的事情。
据《叶问2》的制作人黄百鸣(Raymond Wong)说,这部影片的预算大约在1,000万美元。该片将于4月29日在香港和中国大陆公映,能否在美国上映还未定。

Ip Man 2, the follow-up to 2008’s Ip Man, follows the life of the 20th-century Chinese martial-arts master by the same name. His students included a young Bruce Lee.
Ip Man, who was born in 1893 in Guangdong Province and died in Hong Kong in 1972, is depicted in the movie as a brave and honest man, a loving husband and a devoted father.
‘We created a certain image’ based on a real person, Mr. Yen said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
‘Ip Man is today’s standard of a hero because he can fight,’ he said. ‘But he is also a kind, responsible family man, and that can appeal to all audiences.’
Despite the popularity of the first film and the eagerly awaited sequel next month, Mr. Yen said he doesn’t expect a third installment. ‘I think two is enough for me as an actor and Wilson Yip as a director,’ he said.
‘We could easily make five more, but we would throw artistic value out the window,’ he added. ‘I want people to remember what we did for the industry.’
Ip Man 2, which was produced on a budget of about $10 million, according to producer Raymond Wong, is scheduled for release in Hong Kong and mainland China on April 29. It’s too early to say whether the movie will get a U.S. release.
