白头翁汤与清热解毒药相配伍，能使大肠杆菌内毒素造型家兔血浆内毒素明显减少，血液粘度明显增加，凝血酶原时间明显缩短，血球压积明显增高，５－ＨＴ明显减少，纤溶活性减弱，对家兔机体起到明显的保护作用。从白头翁汤对造型家兔、正常大鼠作用的结果分析认为，白头翁汤及其与清热解毒药配伍制剂对造型家兔血液的保护作用不是活血引起的，而是通过清热解毒对抗大肠杆菌内毒素对家兔的损害，防止ＤＩＣ的发生和炎性反应，达到解毒目的的。
