在二十年代前后,那时我国专业作曲家尚不多。当时一些文学家、音乐家便采用著名的外国曲调,或填入新的歌词(如李叔同先生的《送别》,萍因、抱忱的《念故乡》等)或配以中国古诗来演唱(如李颀的《古从军行》;卢纶的《塞上曲》用《桑塔露琪亚》的曲调;李白的《天回北斗挂西楼》用俄国《工人之歌》;聂胜琼的《玉惨花愁出凤城》用韦伯的《自由射手》序曲等)。这样做,一方面介绍了西方的音乐文化,同时丰富了中国人民(特别是当时的学堂乐歌课)的歌唱生活。最初,我接触 W·伍赖顿的这首曲调,歌词是用李白的《清平调》三章(即“云想衣裳花想容”直至“沉香亭北倚栏杆”共十二句)来唱的。后来又唱了这首《秋声》,但从未注意也未认真考察它的歌词,直到最近,从一本资料中得知,歌词是作曲家黄自先生填写的。

Initially, I came across the tune of W · Wwighton, the lyrics are based on the three chapters of Li Bai’s “Qing Ping Tune” (ie, “Clouds and Flowers” Singing. Later she sang the song “Autumn Sounds,” but never paid any attention to or studied the lyrics of her. Until recently, it was learned from a piece of information that the lyrics were written by composer Huang Zi.
