在毛主席无产阶级革命路线指引下,经过无产阶级文化大革命,我国机械工业对组合机床自动线的高效率、高精度提出越来越高的要求,迫切希望在组合机床自动线中实现一级孔加工。“来用静压精镗头实现一级孔加工的研究”项目就是为我国汽车、拖拉机制造业中活塞、连杆、汽缸体等关键零件的高精度孔加工而提出的。目前我国在组合机床及其自动线的一级孔加工,仅限于采用高精度、高刚度的双排短圆柱滚动轴承的金刚镗头加工,精度很难长期稳定,而当轴承磨损之后又很难修复,因而一级孔加工在我国组合机床自动线上仍是关键工序。
