本文从读者反应论角度对威廉·福克纳的小说《曾经有一位女王》中的三位主要女性角色及她们之间的矛盾冲突进行了解析,深刻地表现了旧家族的没落、新旧思想的矛盾冲突。读者在阅读过程中,对作品进行思考、认识、再思考、再认识,从而实现了对作品意义的不同构建与再创造,特别是对人物关系的不同解读为增加作品的不同层面意义提供了舞台。
This essay analyzes the three main female roles in William Faulkner ’s novel “Once Upon a Queen” and their contradictions and conflicts from the perspective of reader reaction theory. It deeply expresses the decline of the old family, the thought of new and old conflict. During the process of reading, readers think, recognize, reconsider and re-cognize the works so as to realize the different construction and re-creation of the meaning of the works. In particular, the different interpretations of the relationship between characters provide a stage for increasing the significance of different aspects of the work .
