民国时期江西民办中学发展迅速,在一定程度上弥补了当时公立中等教育办学的不足,促进了江西社会经济的发展。但民办私立中学发展过快,也带来了一系列问题,加强对民办教育的管理,成为江西教育行政部门重要工作之一。民国时期江西教育行政部门从民办私立中学的办学条件、办学资金、办学质量等方面逐步加强和完善了对民办私立中学的管理,同时,在经济上对民办私立中学给予了适当的补助和扶持,以促进其健康发展。
