The research on PX oxidation reaction characteristic and process simulation including two stages.The first step is experimental research on oxidation of para-xylene in acetic acid catalyzed by Co<2+>,Mn<2+>and Br<-> is investigated,The experiments involving various levels of oxygen concentration,catalyst comcentration and reactant/solvent ratio are conducted in an isothermal semi-batchreactor.Novel designs are carried out in sampling device to avoid components distribution deforming and dead zone.A kinetisc mechanism based on free radical transportation and components inhibition theory is induced,which can describe the behavior of the reaction in wide range which including the various catalyst concentration,reaction temperature,ratio of cobalt and manganese.During the experimental period,a successful GC detect method,a sampling system and a kinetics based on free radical is developed.At the process simulation stage,a interactive simulating software base on matlab language named PORSSis developed,which was identified by the real operation data and shows excellent correct.It will benefit the real plants further scale up and optimization.
