The investigation on the intrinsically catalytic properties of porous organic cages is still in a very initial stage.Herein we have been able to construct a microporous porphyrin organic cage PTC-1(2H)with a much-prolonged triplet lifetime compared with its monomer, making us possible to develop its visible light photocatalysis.Interestingly, the resulting microporous organic cages are not only capable of catalyzing homogeneous organic reactions, but also catalyzing the heterogeneous photo-oxidation of various primary amines with the conversion efficiency above 99%in suitable organic solvents, even better than reported microporous materials such as metal-organic frameworks(MOFs).These results indicate the great application potentials of porous organic cages in photocatalysis.
