The influence of different recycled sludge ratio(R) in low dissolved oxygen condition(0.2-0.9 mg/L) on nitrogen and phosphorus removal in modified carrousel oxidation ditch was investigated using domestic sewage. The results show that the highest removal rate of ammonia nitrogen(NH4-N),total nitrogen(TN),total phosphorus(TP)and Chemical Oxygen Demand(COD)were achieved when the sludge return ratio was 60%. The average effluent of NH4-N, TN, TP and COD were 2.18 mg/L, 9.0 mg/L, 0.37 mg/L,33 mg/L,meeting the first level A criteria specified in Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastwater Treatment Plant(GB 18918-2002).
