《伊芙琳》是英国作家詹姆斯·乔伊斯的短篇小说集《都柏林人》中的一篇。这篇短文从一个小家庭的生活折射出都柏林人生活的一个侧面和性格的总体症结——精神瘫痪。乔伊斯本着艺术模仿现实生活的宗旨,取材凡人小事,以微观现宏观,同时又大胆地采用了回环、内心独白和“顿悟”等写作手法对人物的内心世界进行了细致的再现。乔伊斯巧妙地融自然主义和现代主义为一体,通过《伊芙琳》的故事刻画出了一幅真实的都柏林人的生活画卷。
Evelyn is an article in the Dublin story by James Joyce, a British writer. This short essay, from the life of a small family, reflects one aspect of the life of Dublinians and the general crux of character - the paralysis of the spirit. Joyce, based on the principle of art imitating real life, draws on common people’s small things, uses micro-present macro concepts, and boldly adopts the methods of looping, inner monologue and “epiphany ” and other writing techniques to make detailed renditions of the inner world of characters . Joyce skillfully integrated naturalism and modernism, through “Evelyn” story depicts a true picture of life in Dublin.
