The Maonan flower bamboo hat weaving skill was created and developed by the people of Nan ethnic group in China in May 2011. Today, the inheritance of this skill is facing a new context and has been listed as the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage protection by the State Council. In the agricultural era, due to the environment and the characteristics of that time, the inheritance of Maonan flower bamboo hat weaving skills faced great challenges. As historical cultural resources, how to carry out innovative development under the current social conditions is the main issue to be discussed in this paper. Based on the above situations, this paper aims to deeply explore the technical philosophy and humanistic connotation of Maonan flower bamboo hats, and explore innovative design strategies of derivative products with contemporary value of flower bamboo hats, finally put forward the following three points: 1. Combined with the current thinking of "new cultural creation", the Maonan flower bamboo hat is refined into ethnic cultural symbols and IP elements that can arouse the resonance of the audience. 2. The strategy of using multiple media forms to promote the cross-border cooperation of IP copyright to enhance the identification degree of Maonan flower bamboo hat culture. 3. For the design of derivatives, the design method of "designer + inheritor + user" was proposed, and the flower-bamboo hat derivatives were classified to grasp the aesthetic characteristics and value orientation of the derivatives, to build emotional resonance between consumers and products. Therefore, the derivative design of Maonan flower bamboo hat culture can meet the life style and aesthetic needs of people in the didital era and contribute to the inheritance and sustainable development of Maonan flower bamboo hat culture. Since the launch of the "intangible cultural heritage" protection project, all kinds of intangible cultural heritage of skills have been exploring their own way. The Maonan flower bamboo hat weaving skill is an important representative culture of Maonan Autonomous County [1]. However, under the background of the decline of the whole intangible cultural heritage skill, the inheritance and development of the flower bamboo hat weaving skill are also facing a serious crisis. This paper holds that the development of contemporary new cultural creation provides new opportunities for the Maonan flower bamboo hat. This paper mainly discusses how to carry the flower-bamboo hat culture into the daily life of the public in the new era of cultural creation, so as to realize its inheritance and development.
