Aims Abnormalities of brain activity are thought to play important roles in the pathogenesis of viscerally hypersensitivity.The insula as one important center processing visceral sensory and regulating emotion is inferred to be closely related with the pathogenesis of viscerally hypersensitivity induced by chronic stress.However, the role of insula in viscerally hypersensitivity has not been clearly defined.We aimed to determine if insular neuron activation plays an important role in viscerally hypersensitivity induced by chronic stress.
