From planning to implementation,the development of the urban system and spatial distribution of Pudong New District has been summarized since the 1980s.From the center of the city to new town,the main problems that exist in the Pudong Urban System were analyzed.The necessity of the research on urban system of Pudong has been proposed while the implementation strategy for future development of Pudong urban system,including the aspects of multi-level construction,economy,transportation,infrastructure,industry transformation and government-market role interaction,has been specifically discussed.
