Indole frameworks, especially chiral ones, are widely distributed in a large number of bioactive natural products and pharmaceuticals.1 Owing to the importance of these bioactive indole derivatives, it is not surprising that enormous efforts have been devoted to the development of efficient syntheses of enantioenriched indole derivatives.On the other hand, the interest in the thiopyran heterocycles has been significantly surged since a wide range of biological activities associated with the scaffold have been identified.2 Among the thiopyrans, the thiopyran fused indole derivatives are found to possess some interesting bioactivities.
