台灣生物多樣陸的保育與研究

  台湾地处热带及亚热带,气候温暖,雨量充沛,平均年雨量在2500 mm,海拔落差变化大,最高达3950公尺,地形变化大,故孕育着丰沛的动物及植物。例如,现有维管束植物约4230种、真菌5300种、动物18000多种,特有生物比例相当高。以植物言,特有生物种(endemic species)有四分之一以上,但近50年来,台湾人口倍增,社经活动及工商业之发达使动物及植物之栖地遭受极大的冲击,一些生物濒临灭绝或绝种。
