Patterning of nervous system requires precise input of the spatial cue.In our study, we found that the deneddylation complex CSN determine neural competence at a specific location by reading the temporal ecdysone signal cue.In CSN mutant, the non-innervated bristles at the posterior wing margin of Drosophila are transformed into neuron-innervated sensory organs.The transformation involves temporal up-regulation of ecdysone signaling that induces the target gene br during the prepupa-to-pupa transition.
