  Broccoli(Brassica oleracea var.italica)is an important Cruciferous vegetable,using male sterile line and male parent is the main way to produce hybrid.In this study,Dominant Genic Male Sterility(DGMS)material DGMS79-399-3 and Ogura Cytoplasmic Male Sterility(OguraCMS)material OguraCMSR3 629 were used as the original sources to get broccoli high generation(n ≥ 9)male sterile lines DGMS8554,OguraCMS8554,DGMS93219 and OguraCMS93219.Those materials with maintainer lines of 8554,93219 and F1 produced by them were used to systematically study the agronomic traits and hybrid seed setting characteristics of the male sterile lines.Results showed that under the same genetic background,the growth trend of plant width,plant height,length and width of the maximum outer leaves,number of the effective outer leaves were almost the same among maintainer lines,two types of sterile lines and the F1 produced by them.The appeared and harvested time of the two types of sterile lines under same background and F1 produced by them were nearly the same,the curd yield traits were different,but the quality traits performed the same,respectively.The results of different evacuating bouquet methods showed the optimal treatment of DGMS8554 and OguraCMS8554 were that remain 3 side balls and 4 side balls.When using DGMS8554 line,OguraCMS8554 line and male parent 93219 to produce hybrid under the condition of bee pollination,the time of appearing bouquet,flowering,podding and harvest of DGMS8554 line was 2-4 days earlier than CMS8554 line.After cutting the main bouquet,the DGMS8554 line can flowering and fruiting,while OguraCMS8554 line cant.Under the same evacuating bouquet,the seed yield and grain weight between DGMS8554 line and OguraCMS8554 line were different,but the seed germination rate of DGMS8554 line was significantly higher than OguraCMS8554 line.
