Distant hybridization is of great significance in breaking the reproductive isolation between different species,creating new species or new germplasm and studying genome evolution.The intergeneric hybrid of broccoli and radish was obtained by embryo rescue and identified by morphological characterization and chemical analysis for the first time.The results showed that the hybrid plants showed stronger growth vigor compared with their parents.Most morphological characters of the hybrids were beyond two parents and some traits tended to one of their parents.
