Background/Aims: The endoplasmic reticulum is a very sensitive environment to the intracellular and extracellular stimulations, including calcium concentration, hypoxia, ATP/AMP ratio, that collectively termed "ER stress".However, the threshold and combined effect of different kind of stimulations was unknown. And precise cooperative relationship between ER calcium concentration and Hypoxia to apoptosis remains to be addressed.
