  We investigated the effect of new violet laser stimulation at three acupoints on neurovegetative parameters in anesthetized rats.Data recording was performed in 10 male Sprague-Dawley rats under three conditions in Beijing, China, and monitored with equipment from Graz, Austria.Data analysis was performed in Europe.For stimulation a violet laser (405 nim, 1 mW, cw) was used.The electrocardiograms were recorded during laser acupuncture stimulation of the head, ear, and body (GV20 Baihui, Heart ear acupoint, ST36 Zusanli).Heart rate changed significantly only during and after stimulation at Baihui.Total heart rate variability and mean arterial blood pressure showed insignificant changes.Violet laser stimulation offers a method to induce neurovegetative acute effects in anesthetized rats.These results can readily be translated to clinical studies.
