The new tumor marker ATM-1 is a target antigen of the LAK cell strain 5B_5 and it is present in many human cancer cell lines and can be released in the culture supernatant. Although ATM-1 is present as 1.2 million, 700,000, and 120,000 glycoproteins, high-molecular-weight ATM-1 is generally considered to be a complex having a molecular weight of 120,000. The authors studied the sera of various cancer patients by using EIM against mouse monoclonal antibodies against ATM-1 and found that there were ATM-1 in the serum of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), breast cancer, gastric cancer, and lung cancer, but the blood system was malignant.
