Natural ventilation can not only improve the indoor environment and air quality, but also reduce the building energy consumption to a certain extent, while the office building is mainly provided with natural ventilation through the windows. Therefore, studying the window opening behavior of building workers is of great significance to thermal comfort, indoor air quality and building energy saving. However, at present, the research on the fenestration of building interior personnel is still in its infancy. The experiment conducted a seven-and-a-half-month real-time monitoring of the window opening behavior of office workers in a university in Beijing during the 2014 transition season and the winter of 2015. The factors that may affect the window opening behavior of building users were analyzed, including indoor and outdoor temperature, outdoor PM2 .5 Concentration, previous window status, different time periods, staff presence and personal habits. Experimental results show that these factors will affect the office workers window behavior. The results of the experiment will provide a basis for better understanding of the window-opening behavior of people in the building and help to establish a window-opening behavior model for office buildings in Beijing.
