Animals maintain their homeostasis through physiological regulation and adapt to changes in the external environment. From the body, the external stimuli, through the body of various types of sensors into signals, transduced downstream receptors, sensory signals processed affect hormone secretion, regulate body balance. Sensory signal transduction and hormone secretion depend mainly on ion channel receptors and G protein-coupled receptors. In addition, the study found that the sensory system not only affects animal behavior and physiology, but also affect life expectancy, the mechanism may be through the regulation of animal food intake affect life expectancy. This article discusses: 1 How external sensory signals in animals are recognized and converted by the sensor cells; 2 How to further process these sensory signals to regulate the secretion of peptide hormones that maintain homeostasis in the body; and 3 The possible mechanisms by which sensation affects aging.
