爨底下村距京城90公里,村域面积5.33平方公里。全村现居50户,均为民俗旅游接待户,共118人。该村始建于明朝永乐年间(公元1403—1424年),距今已有500多年的历史。村落四面群山环抱,山峦起伏、蜿蜒雄浑壮观,山势奇异优美。村落有保存完好的明清建筑风格为主体的山地四合院7 6套,6 5 6间,排列井然、错落有序、布局严谨、规划神聚,是保存最为完整的古民居群。
