清末民初词学特盛,词家辈出,而词论词学的大家名家亦多。五四以后,现代白话的新体文学代兴,旧体文学渐趋没落。惟词学传承不绝,实在也是异数。其中《词学季刊》、~([一])《同声月刊》、~([二])《词学》、~([二])《中华词学》~([四])等,推动近百年来词学的持续发展,影响尤大。至于近代的词学名家,曾大兴列出了上卷王国维、胡适、胡云翼、冯沅君、俞平伯、浦江清、顾随、吴世昌、刘尧民、缪钺、王仲闻;下卷朱祖谋、况周颐、郑文焯、夏敬观、龙榆生、任中敏、唐圭璋、夏承焘、陈洵、刘永济、詹安泰,共二十二家。~([五])曹辛华列出了梁启超、王国维、吴梅、陈匪石、汪东、胡适、胡云翼、龙榆生、夏承焘、唐圭璋十家。~([六])这两份名单虽然难免还有所遗漏,但早期重要的词学专家,大致已备。八十年代以后,大量的词学研究者冒起,著述日多,而词学几乎更成了当代的显学。案词学之名,早见于清江顺诒(一八二二—?)辑《词学集成》八卷。《凡例》云:‘撮其纲日源、曰体、曰音、曰韵,衍其流曰派、曰法、日境、曰品。’~([七])龙沐勋《研究词学之商榷》指出词学的具体内容,可分八项:

Although it is inevitable that these two lists have still to be omitted, important early word experts in the field have generally been prepared. Since the 1980s, a large number of Ci -ology researchers have risen up and written more and more, and Ci-poetry has almost become the contemporary school. The name of the word study, as early as in Qingjiang Shunyi (one eight two two -?)
