应用先进的米丘林生物科学的有性杂交方法,会培育出我们所需要的理想的树种,可以创造出适于北方生长的木本油料作物以及各种速生的用材树种和观赏树种。近几年来,国内外应用这一方法获得很大成就。如中国林业科学研究院培育的北京杨,要比钻天杨生长快34%,插条一年生即达4.01米;由苏联、匈牙利、波兰三国科学家们共有培育出了“和平树”,一年生长高4.5米,五年即达5层楼房那样高,并可生长在沙漠里。对于松类槭树、橡树、桦树、榆、柳等树种,也都进行过杂交育种工作,所得杂种都比亲本生长迅速,由于这样,已有很多国家应用这种方法,创造新的优良树种。我们国家也将普遍开展这项工作,现在有很多研究部门和林场、苗圃
