西方学者萨默瓦说道:“绝大多数研究专家认为,在面对面交际中,信息的社交内容只有35%左右是言语行为,其他都是通过非语言行为传递的。”[1]可见,非语言行为的作用是不可忽视的。在课堂教学中,教师的讲解与学生的理解也是信息传递的过程,教师如果能够采取适当的非语言行为,不仅有助教学的进行,还能提高教学效率。成人学生作为特殊的学习群体,具有怎样的特征?教师在课堂内采用的非语言行为有哪些,具有怎样的功能?对成人英语教学有着怎样的帮助?本文根据已有的研究结果和教学实践,对上述问题作一浅谈。
Sommer, a Western scholar, said: “Most researchers believe that only about 35% of the social content of information is verbal behavior in face-to-face communication, and the rest are delivered through non-verbal behavior.” [1] The role of nonverbal behavior can not be ignored. In classroom teaching, teacher’s explanation and student’s understanding are also the process of information transmission. If teachers can take proper non-verbal actions, it not only helps the teaching but also improves teaching efficiency. What are the characteristics of the non-verbal behaviors that teachers use in the classroom and what kind of functions are they having? What kind of help is it for adult English teaching? According to the existing research results and teaching practice, A brief talk on the above issues.
